About the

Wilmington Campus

At Central's Wilmington Campus, you'll find more than a "beach church" and live stream broadcast. You'll receive a very warm welcome from friendly people. If you have children, you can be assured that Wilmington takes the importance of raising children "in the admonition of the Lord" seriously. There is safe and encouraging children's church for Kindergarten through 5th grade, and a teen class, as well as a fully-staffed nursery for infants and preschoolers. Care and Share, Women's Prayer Meeting and other events are held for the whole family to find friendship and biblical encouragement. .

Meet the Wilmington pastor

Tim Denny

Pastor Tim Denny was born in Buffalo, NY, and moved to Charlotte in elementary school. He's married to Debbie Denny. They have three married children and nine grandchildren. After an invitation from Debbie's brother, their family started attending Central about 1984. Tim served as an elder at the Charlotte Campus for many years. In 1993, the Denny family moved from Charlotte to Wilmington, NC due to a job transfer.

Sensing the desire for anointed preaching in their community, Tim and Debbie helped launch the Wilmington Campus in the fall of 2013. In 2018, Tim completed the denomination's process to receive a pastoral license.

At the Wilmington church, Tim says members embrace the two great commandments: Love God and love others. He considers it an honor to serve the Lord in Wilmington.

Pastor Tim enjoys spending time with his family, at the beach, and playing golf and pickleball.

Click on each question below to find more information.

Does Wilmington Campus have Children's Church?

Absolutely! After the worship time, children up through elementary school go to their respective rooms for age-appropriate lessons and fun activities.

Can I visit if I'm just at the beach for the weekend?

Simply put - YES!

What should I wear?

Beacause the campus is near the beach, the dress is more casual (no ties or socks requried!) as long as your dress is modest.

Meet Loran & Sandra

Loran Livingston

Pastor Loran Livingston loves people and enjoys the opportunity to help them see just how much Jesus loves them. He has led Central Church for more than 47 years, and while times have certainly changed, the crux of his message has not – the truth of Scripture, the power of the cross and the greatness of grace.

Pastor was born and raised in Anson County, North Carolina, where he grew up in a godly home. However, it was not until he was a college student at Lee University that his life was dramatically changed by the love of Christ. Soon after, he married Sandra Weatherby, and together they began a life of ministry. In 1977, the young couple moved to Charlotte to pastor the newly formed Central Church.

As an engaging preacher and a storyteller, Pastor has a way of not only bringing Scripture to life, but applying it to where you live. He’s bold and honest, and probably best loved for his transparency. Each sermon delivers hope and encouragement.

While Central’s congregation is beautifully diverse and the challenges of the day are complex, Pastor Livingston constantly points to the one place where true hope is found – Jesus Christ.

Pastor is a fisherman and golfer. He and Sandra have four daughters, three sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren.
